Mark's father, Archie Raymond Borchelt died on July 7, 2009 at the age of 88. Archie was a devout Lutheran and a proud World War 2 veteran who served at the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he worked at the Patent Office. His wife Laura died in 2004. He has 2 sons, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons. Archie and Laura are buried at the Christ Church in Accokeek, Maryland close to May and John Jenkins.
